Shikshataru Education and Learning Foundation (SELF) is a registered non-profit organization working at the intersection of education and community health. Established in 2023, SELF is committed to creating meaningful impact by reaching underserved and marginalised communities across Haryana.

Our work focuses on ensuring that every child has access to quality education and every young individual is equipped with the right knowledge to make informed life decisions. Through community outreach, awareness programs, and grassroots initiatives, we aim to bridge gaps in education and health while fostering long-term, sustainable change.

Our Vision

Shikshataru Education and Learning Foundation (SELF) was established in 2023 with a clear and enduring purpose: to build a society that is educated, healthy, and empowered. We envision a world where every person — regardless of their social or economic background — has access to at least a basic education and the opportunity to lead a dignified life. Our work is anchored in the Right to Education Act, 2009, and spans a range of interconnected issues: out-of-school children, girl child education, life skills development, and adolescent health awareness — with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS prevention and community well-being.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure that no child is left outside the school system, and that every child who enrols goes on to complete at least their foundational education. We identify children who have dropped out or never been enrolled, facilitate their admission into nearby government schools under applicable rules, and work continuously to sustain their learning. Alongside this, we engage parents and guardians to build lasting awareness about the value of education and its role in securing a better future for their children. We also work with children already in schools — equipping them with essential life skills and critical health knowledge, including awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS and other health challenges relevant to adolescents.

Our Objectives

Join us in supporting education, health awareness, and community welfare. As a volunteer, you can contribute your time, skills, and energy to bring positive change in the lives of those who need it most. Together, we can build stronger communities and create a lasting impact.

  • To promote equitable access to quality education for socially and economically marginalized communities, with particular focus on minorities, out-of-school children, and girls.
  • To organize training and capacity-building programmes that strengthen literacy, vocational skills, and overall social development among underserved sections of society.
  • To foster innovation, critical thinking, and creativity in school-going children, and to support them in developing projects and ideas that benefit their communities.
  • To promote ethics, constitutional values, and essential life skills — including teamwork, communication, and resilience — as integral parts of a child's education and development.
  • To provide educational, social, cultural, and medical relief to the poor and disadvantaged, and to advance charitable objectives of broad public utility and community welfare.
  • To conduct targeted awareness programmes on critical public health and social issues — including HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, and adolescent health — in partnership with government institutions and civil society organizations.
  • To pursue the holistic upliftment of marginalized communities through education, skill-building, and values-based interventions, while mobilizing government grants and CSR funding to expand and sustain these efforts.
